1 WAP/Wireless

The ScheduleWorld "WAPToday" service displays your schedule for the current day.

1.1 Configuration

Your phone (any WAP-capable device) simply needs to bookmark a slightly modified version of the following URL: http://www.ScheduleWorld.com/sw/WAPToday?id=81&tz=-0400
  1. id is the unique identifier of the ScheduleWorld calendar. You can determine this by (within ScheduleWorld) right-clicking on the calendar and selecting "Properties".

  2. tz is your time zone offset. For example, EST is -0400, EDT is -0500. Again, the calendar "Properties" mentioned above may be helpful as it will show you your WAP URL with the time zone you configured ScheduleWorld with.

Note: This image shows "EDT" instead of "-0500". You can use what ScheduleWorld displays (EDT) but you should not use this format as many countries have the exact same three letter time zone. If your three character time zone is giving you strange results, use the numeric offset from UTC.

1.2 Simulator Screen Shots

You can test the ScheduleWorld WAP URL against a simulator. You can find one such simulator here: http://gelon.net/about/wapalizer.html The Girl Guides of Ontario calendar is a good one to test against as it has a special event called "Lunch" that is defined as 12:00 noon local time.

1.3 Why Is My WAP Schedule Always Empty?

If you are seeing the "No events today." message even though you are sure your calendar has an event today then you are having a permission issue. The "WAPToday" service only displays world-readable events from your calendar. The WAP phone does not have the ability to decrypt your encrypted events and since you are the only person with your private keys we can't decrypt them for you on our server (that's a good thing).

Newer phones and devices will be J2ME (Java) enabled and they will be able to decrypt and display your encrypted events.

To fix the permission problem, simply click on the event, click permission, and choose a default rule of "Grant Read, Deny write".
