The Java Client

  • Fast And Offline Support
    The Java client is a real rich client application. There is no waiting for the network to respond between mouse clicks and you can use it when not connected to the Internet. Any changes you made offline are queued up and sent the next time you connect to the Internet when the Java client is running.

  • Enhancements Over The HTML Client
    • accept a meeting invite/cancel/delete/etc.
    • encrypt events and tasks.
    • work offline.
    • perform searches on publicly indexed calendars.
    • share calendars.
    • provide customized weather schedule views (unsupported).
    • provide customized TV listings views (unsupported).
    • provide RSS views (unsupported).

  • Supported Platforms, Requirements, And Installation
    Supported platforms:
    • Microsoft Windows 2003,XP,2000,ME,98,95, Apple's OS/X, Linux, Solaris.
    • 64MB RAM
    • 10MB Disk

    Installation:
    • Java 5: http://java.com/
    • Simply click to start the Java client: Note: the Java client has fallen behind and needs updates to work. For now please use the HTML client.
    • Optional: Back up your private keys! If you lose them you will lose your encrypted calendar events forever. Also, if you wish to have your account available on multiple machines you will need your private keys. To save your private keys simply start ScheduleWorld and select File->Export Private Keys. To make your account available on another machine start ScheduleWorld as usual but select "Use Existing Account" and supply your private key file.
