Problems syncing Samsung Blackjack (wm5) with Funambol against ScheduleWorld

I got this to work at some point in the past but for some reason this stopped working (might have been using different software versions).

Note that I can successfully sync my laptop and desktop against SW.

Here's what I did:

Downloaded funambol-smartphone-wm5-plugin-6.0.17.cab from Funambol Forge and installed it.

Configured Funambol as follows:
ACCOUNT:
server location:
http://sync.scheduleworld.com/funambol/ds
username:
(my 5-digit uid)
password:
(my password)

SYNC SETTINGS:
disabled all but contacts
Details: 2-way
Advanced settings:
default was "scard" and "SIF" (not vCard)
since SW preferences referred to "card" rather than "scard" I tried both values. Actually tried all combinations of card/SIF, card/vCard, scard/SIF, scard/vCard.

Now if I do a "Sync All", process starts and successfully login (also see new device in my SW preferences). But it then fails while sending contacts from phone. Log file says:

Code:

No config for source:
Synchronization URL:http://sync.scheduleworld.com/funambol/ds
Preparing synchronization of contacts...
(blahblah)
Error in syncing: Server Failure: server returned error code -1
Sync ended multiple sources
Synchronize is returning: -1.

Any idea what to try next?
Many thanks in advance for any tip.

Re:Problems syncing Samsung Blackjack (wm5) with Funambol against ScheduleWorld

Mark pointed me to the solution.

The key was in this error:
"Content-Encoding: deflateWarning: 214 MSP-PROXY TransformationApplied"

"The Funambol client has a bug (the wiki documents this as the reason for
the Funambol Windows Mobile client not working with a certain wireless
company) with proxies that auto-compress.
Your only option is to have your proxy not auto-compress."

See here for details

WORKAROUND

get from http://forge.objectweb.org/project/showfiles.php?group_id=96
funambol-smartphone-wm5-plugin-6.0.20.cab
+ patch compression.cab
(hopefully later versions of funambol will not require the patch)

FUNAMBOL SETTINGS

ACCOUNT:
server location: http://sync.scheduleworld.com/funambol/ds
username: (my 5-digit uid)
password: (my password)

SYNC SETTINGS (for contacts):
Details: 2-way
Advanced settings (defaults): "scard" and "SIF"

Thanks!
