Using 7.0.7 funambol client on an Imate 8502 WM6.1 and Outlook 2003 SP3

When I delete an event in Outlook and synchronise it correctly disappears from the web client view. No problem there.

However, when I then sync my Imate, it simply puts the event back in rather than deleting it. The only thing that seems to work is to force a clean up which re-downloads everything before syncing it.

If I delete it from the phone it's no problem and the event then deletes from Outlook the next time it syncs.

Any ideas why this would happen?

(My account is 1735404 if you need to look at logs).

I see a couple of slow syncs from your device. Slow syncs are non-destructive merge syncs that ignore deletes. This would explain the behaviour you are reporting.

If you are still seeing this and you think you shouldn't, please post the exact time of a sync that ignores a delete operation and I'll check the logs.

Cheers.

I'm not sure what forces a "slow sync" but I have seen on the client on the device where it will say "Sending 11" or "Updating 11" for the calendar when it shouldn't be changing anything.

Possibly another 7.0.7 plugin issue? I will try with 6.5.7 as suggested with my other problem and see if it still occurs.

Looking at the log from the Outlook windows client (also 7.0.7) I see exactly 11 entries stating events are updated (just 23 events in total):

This occurs repeatedly (syncing Outlook hourly at the moment) with no syncing from the mobile device at all in between (it only syncs every 8 hours).

It looks like this is another 7.x bug. Please degrade to 6.5.7 and try again.

Cheers.

Does appear to have stopped with 6.5.7/6.5.8

Will monitor and if I see it again, will report back here.

Ummm actually I hadn't reinstalled the phone. When I went looking I can't find a 6.5.7 of the Windows Mobile/PPC plugin. Only 6.5.18.

The SW wiki points to v7 and mentions ObjectWeb but I can't find it there either.

What is recommended for my mobile device then?
