This client gets stuck sometimes. I recommend:

1. save your contacts: web 2.0 contacts export to VCard 3.0
2. web 2.0 contacts -> wipe ldap contacts
3. SWorld preferences - click 'delete device' (delete the Treo). This forces a full fresh sync the next time you sync your treo.
4. sync the treo.
5. web 2.0 contacts: import vcard (your previouly exported vcard 3.0 backup data)

The Treo will likely sync fine after that.

Cheers.

OK I'll give that a go, but to be honest I think the REALLY weird vcard import issues I just posted need to be resolved first:

It's a completely separate issue (multicasting) and has been resolved.

Cheers.

I did something similar to your suggestions and managed to get the Treo to completely upload its contacts database to the server, so thanks for the tips.

hi mark,

can we work together to get this fixed with the synthesis folks? i've been getting this problem every once in a while too and the recovery process is way too time consuming and frustrating since i have category->calendar mapping which requires deleting calendars and a subsequent time intensive process of syncing to 3 separate TB/syncSW.

i believe you've worked with them in the past but let me know if i can help as a common customer.

thx.

Synthesis will be releasing an update soon that resolved the 418 error issue for all of the situations i had encountered. version numbers >= 3.0.2.22 should have this fix.

FYI
