What Is It?
Description
ScheduleWorld is both a secure Internet calendaring and scheduling client application and a server service that enables users to schedule events or appointments with other ScheduleWorld users and/or users of other calendaring and scheduling products.
The baseline requirements for ScheduleWorld were: security, interoperability, scalability on a global scale, extensibility, and to support Linux and OS/X as well as Windows on the client.
ScheduleWorld was created to be a driving force in the global virtual commoditization of iCalendar. It is only a matter of time before more corporations around the globe switch to open standards (iCalendar) for calendaring and scheduling, and start taking advantage of feature rich standards-compliant applications. Think airline schedules, bus schedules, TV, radio, amateur and professional sports, school, equipment maintenance, part time worker schedules, time sheets, any type of equipment or building rental and much more.
A new era of rich scheduling clients will soon be upon us and ScheduleWorld is playing a big part in making this happen.
Calendaring And Scheduling Features:
- Free - there is currently no cost to using the client or server.

- Works with XMLTV to provide free tv listings.
- Provides free global weather schedules.
- Fast - the Java client is a fast local application - no waiting for slow HTML responses with every mouse click.
- Secure - Everything you do is encrypted and signed (unless you communicate with non-ScheduleWorld clients, or grant everyone read access to an event or todo). You can assign specific permissions to any individual component (event, todo, etc).

- Uses open standards to be compatible with other calendaring and scheduling software like Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes.

- Accessible - you can use ScheduleWorld from anywhere on the Internet. You can even use it when disconnected and ScheduleWorld will sync up the next time your connect.
- Customizable - you can personalize your calendar with HTML.
- External SOAP API - ScheduleWorld was designed from the ground up to use XML for all data except iCalendar objects. The externally facing API is based on SOAP and we plan on making it available to the public.
